Nice photo journalism shot. It is sad to realize how some are forced to live.

Mike and Travlynwomyn (btw love the name. Thanks for looking. Bangkok is a great place to visit, if not for the great shopping, to make one appreciate the little things we take for granted. There is alot of poverty there. Steve - thanks for the tip. I will try that. And I wont tell Adobe if you dont.

Interesting contradictions here. He may be down and out, but he sure loves his instrument. It's amazing. Great capture.

Hi Bernadette! Adobe will probably put a hit man on my case, but I'd recommend you download the GIMP for free rather than shell out for Photoshop. If you look at my article called "A basic curves tutorial" - a link to this is on your gallery home page - you will find a link to the GIMP download site.

Thanks for you comments Steve and Tania. Unfortunately I don't have photoshop. I may have to get it one day soon though. I was 'experimenting' with all the options, buy was not 100% happy with the outcome

Nice image, and that instrument has an extraordinary flourish at the end of the finger-board!

On the B&W tones, I suspect that the HP software doesn't give you enough control to manipulate the tones as much as you'd like. To do that you need a channel mixer like that in Photoshop which lets you determine how the blue green and red channels are converted to B&W tones.
