Pierre Bertrand

This is me as my alter ego. I performed him once at the library in LaPlace and several times as a reenactor at the Chalmette Park among other places.

Pierre was a real person from LaPlace who lived during the times of Lafitte and Andrew Jackson. He lived on the German Coast which is what LaPlace and surronding areas were called at the time. He fought in the Battle of New Orleans when he was about 17 years of age. He owned a store at number 2 Canal Street in New Orleans in 1820. He marrried Miss Vicknair from the German Coast at the St. John the Baptist Church in Edgard, Louisiana across the river from Reserve, La. Reserve is directly upriver from LaPlace. Those are the facts I know but I do make some up as I go on reenacting.
