Well Grumpy, All I can say is mmm and thinking of those wonderful days of being a kid, another comes to mind with thick bread and butter is Condensed Milk how about you.

Hello Chris, that was a good one :) Recall that can & product from childhood days -- the rather morbid words & image on the can puzzled me somewhat as a child."out of the strong came forth sweetness".

Expect there are many people who live in the USA who would not know this product, but we can buy it here in Canada at some stores. It's not widely used tho'. Molasses is more widely known in North America, as is honey & Maple Syrup. Am thinking that "corn syrup" would be more of an equivalent to Golden Syrup. I haven't eaten it since leaving England, far as can recall.
