This is a photo of a home in Mammoth Lakes, California. There are many things to do in the Mammoth Lakes area like, taking photos, skiing, hiking, biking, boating, camping, climbing, fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, swimming, and just plain sightseeing.

It is a awesome place to take photos, and fishing is a big thing there. BUT, I did read this about the area. Hot Creek Geologic Site Closed Indefinitely for Swimming beginning June 5, 2006. The Inyo National Forest has announced that due to the rapid rate of changing geothermal conditions at the Hot Creek Geologic Site near Mammoth Lakes, that swimming in the creek will be temporarily prohibited.

The recent observation of a new geyser, small mud-pots, and increased thermal ground heating has led the Forest Service to fence off new areas and post in the area as temporarily closed to swimming. Sounds like Mother Nature is getting ready to change things around there. :-0
