This is an old photo showing a mountain fort. My mother used to do this during Diwali or the festival of lights. Shivaji who was a famous Maratha King in the 17th Century built several such forts to fight the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and ultimately prevented him from conquering Maharashtra. Many houses all over the State still make such models on festive occasions.
