I can't take a photo of the moon without it looking like a street lamp, but I managed to finally get one. It was during the day though funny enough. Like you, I will keep trying. Its a really hard think to photograph. Yours looks better than my night-time attempts.

I have taken many shots that came out the same.Maybe it would look better if you cropped the full sized version.I'm an amature so I can't offer too much info.
