Monument Ridge

In the old days, boulders from this ridge were used as grave monuments. Hence the name - Monument Ridge. The cactus to the right is a saguaro. The highway is called the Bee-Line Highway. It was first built in 1929. It's hard to imagine the labor involved in building a road up through this large boulder field.

Thanks Carol. I'll bet it doesn't look anything like where you are.

Thank you Whittler and km. I've been wanting to get a good shot of this for a long time.

The light angle gave you some nice texture on this shot.
