Monarch Butterfly About to Emerge

This is a Monarch butterfly chrysalis, with the butterfly nearly ready to emerge. The chrysalis turns from green to black (actually it gets transparent) over the last few hours of the butterfly's development. It emerged about a half hour after the photo was taken.
