Late Night Lightning Hitting Mountains

Late Night Lightning Hitting MountainsJust a little before midnight the thunder woke me up. Well being a total photo nut I threw on some cloths and was outside taking photos in less than five minuets. We don't get a lot of great lightning shows out here in the desert so I was a tad rusty on what settings to use. The lightning always seems to attack the mountains and leaves all the houses in the valley alone. This lighting was hitting the mountains that are around 15 miles away from my home.
Up-date: The mountains are now on fire from the lightning strikes. The mountains are too rugged and no one lives on them so just the cactus and brush are burning. I'm going to go outside shortly and see if I can get a decent shot of the flames.
