Wounded Butterfly

While walking along Old US-27 this morning, this butterfly flew over for a brief visit. I didn't notice its damaged wing until I looked at the images on my computer. Fortunately it doesn't stop this beautiful creature from flying.

The matte is taken from what appeared to be "gravel" on an empty camp site. I'm often surprised to see tiny shells used in that capacity here in Florida.

Thank you, Alandra - I was surprised that it was flying smoothly after seeing the huge piece missing from its wing. I'm glad you enjoyed the framing too. It's often good to take texture shots of items to save for framing/matte purposes. Clouds and tree trunks always work well.
