thanks very much, Kimberly, am happy you like it. We miss the hummingbirds now that they've flown south, returning home for the winter. They'll be back here in early March or so, hopefully :)

thankyou Mary, it was a pleasant surprise, coming out of the blue the way it did : ) I guess the meeting will be held anyday now, at Canary Wharf in London, England. I hope my photo brings them more success

Alandra, I swear I thought I had commented on this one when you first posted it, but I may have not even belonged to the site at that time. It is absolutely perfect! Congrats on the sale! You sure deserve it. Fantastic capture!!! Don

that's very nice of you, May, many thanks : ) Actually, the photo wasn't sold, per se, it was just licensed for 1,000 printings.

well, thankyou Alan, that's really nice of you and appreciated. It was quite a thrill, (and a shock at first LOL) right outa the blue like that. I was scared stiff I'd mess up : ) Thanks to Brian, all went well. It really was a great feeling and great honour. Thanks again

that's a lovely comment, Plumeriagrl, many thanks, glad you like it. I've tried since to get a few others at the gazing ball, but wasn't lucky.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all. LOL. This is an amazing capture. I'm so happy for you that you were so fast with your camera. This does indeed need to be submitted into a photo contest. Excellent work.

that's really nice of you, Alex D, am appreciative of your encouraging comments. It was one of those lucky shots, (actually I got another at the same shoot, slightly diff. position of the hummer) - but just spotted her near the gazing ball, grabbed the camera, and got about 4 or 5 shots, but only 2 were any good. I am pleased to have got these 2 shots tho'. I'll send the other one in later.

Hi Tania, am chuckling as I write this, after seeing your cute and sweet message.(thankyou) To be honest, am rather surprising myself with some of the hummer shots lately : ) - it had always been my dream to get "one" good hummer shot, and I spent hours (to no avail) sitting in the garden, "hoping" and "trying". Last summer I did get a few better shots, but my camera just wasn't fast enough, plus it's zoom was "sad". But this camera and lens has helped me get some better shots of the hummers. Am happy to share them and glad you like them. Oh, and no, I never dreamed the hummers would be interested in the Gazing Ball when we bought it, but I'd wanted one ever since first reading about and seeing pics of them, avail. by catalogue in the USA, but had no idea how one would survive being sent up here to Canada. Finally found one for sale in this area, so bought it, this was a few years ago now. It seems mainly only one hummer that looks into the gazing ball, far as I can tell.

glad you like it, Janice. I have heard that sometimes they do break their beaks, - it's pretty cautious how it goes up to the glass ball tho', - so hope all will be okay.

Hope it doesnt break its beak. Smile. Really cute shot.

thanks Carol, was pleased to get these yesterday, as had tried earlier and they didn't turn out as well, - think I was too close before, out on the patio when I tried to get the others a couple weeks ago.
