Allen's hummingbird at red penstemon flowers (wildflowers, I believe) growing in a pot on our front patio. captured from open front window. These flowers overwintered from last summer and are looking a bit worse for wear, but we leave them there just for the hummers as they seem to love them.

We are surprised the hummingbirds are here this late in August this summer, as am sure they're usually gone by now. Maybe the Rufous leave earlier and the Allen's stay here longer.
