A Home In My Town

This is a modern TP home in Golden Valley where I live. There was a storm going through with a break in the clouds letting the sun light up the house. This home has all of the modern conveniences like running water and air conditioning.

Hi Jas and Karen, Thanks so much for your wonderful comments and about the lighting. Jas this home has been here in Golden Valley for at least 25 years and is still out all by its self. Karen I have no idea who lives there, maybe someday I will see someone besides there dogs around there. I did not think about the wind, being a round shape it sure would let the wind curve around it.

Wow, that is a unique structure and certainly retains the look of a traditional teepee. The cone shape is said to be very stable and able to withstand high winds. Those Indians knew a lot about living in their environment. I wonder if the owners are native Americans. The lighting is very nice against the contrasting dark sky.

This really is unique! It looks, to me, as if it could be a model; I'm not sure whether it's the position of the building in relation to it's surroundings, or, the lighting that gives me this feeling? Very interesting to view and, I too, would love a peak inside! :)

Hi Alandra, Thanks very much!! I'm glad you enjoyed my photo of the unusual home. Luck was on my side with the sun coming out when I happen to be there.

cool image, Alan. I'd love to see inside also. Very impressive scene with the dark clouds behind the teepee, and the pale coloured grasses and earth in the foreground.

Hi Robyn, I would say I live in a different kind of place, cool? lol.. I like it here, no traffic lights and mostly dirt roads.

You must live in a really cool place. That is one awesome house. Love all the contrast. The storm behind is awesome and the color of the house really shines.

WOW... Thanks everyone for all the great comments. Carol I would also like to see the inside, I imagine it is like any home. Lorriane just guessing it is around 25 feet tall and the bottom is the size of a nice size house. If you look to the left you can see a little home next to it. Hey Artsyinchicago that TP home has been here for a good 30 years and has weathered many storms. With the rounded shape I think it can take the wind a lot better than a square house. Thanks again everyone, glad you enjoyed my photo.

THE LOOK OF THE SIZE OF THE STORM WHAT COMES TO MY MIND... I FEEL A SENSE OF INSECURITY FROM THIS PICTURE. FROM THE DARKNESS OF THOSE CLOUDS THAT PLACE WOULDNT BE MY FIRST CHOICE FOR PROTECTION OF THIS STORM. I BET THE TP TOOK A BEATING WHILE THE STORM MOVED THROUGH. GREAT SHOT!

The dark gray storm clouds, gathering above the black trees form the perfect background and contrast for this well lighted teepee-shaped home where all the light seems to have gathered. Looks as if the wind is blowing the tall green grasses. A great contrast picture. A wonderful, awesome picture. A grandeur about it.

It's very interesting, quite hard to imagine the size of it, A great shot with the dark of the storm behind it.
