many thanks Carol, Alex and Janice. You're right, Alex, this one does show the size of the beak more. It's a better capture than the other one, but the other image shows the legs & feet, whereas this one doesn't :) so I put the other one up also, despite it not being as good, incase anyone can positively ID it for me, but am pretty certain it's a black headed grosbeak female. So far I haven't been able to get a shot of the male black headed grosbeak, as they haven't returned, that am aware of.
