Gazing Ball Hummingbird 2008

Hummingbird at the gazing ball on our front patio. That's me at the front window, capturing the images :)

The hummer spent quite awhile dancing around and quite close to, the mirror ball this evening, so I got a lot of images of the antics.

many thanks, Alan, glad you like it. Smiling at all the comments re the window, - I guess people were wondering about me always saying I got all these images at the open window, - it never dawned on me as to how it must've sounded :) But with the patio area and garden being "sunken" we look out onto it, from the front windows, and see all sorts of happenings.

About the big flower :) - got a new software program, so am having fun experimenting with all the new gizmos on there.

Hi Alandra, What a really fun photo. The life and times of a photographer.. Wonderful photo of the hummingbird and it's wings. This sure makes it look like you have a super zoom lens.. I can see now how you can get so many different photos from one window, What a beautiful yard. Oh I really like the big flower on the side. :)

thankyou everyone, for all the very nice comments, glad you like it, Karen, Ann and Janice. Thought perhaps it needs lightening a bit? Smiling about the "blind" comment, Karen, and am glad you now have seen where I sit, Ann :)

To be honest, I have considered trying to think of a way to pull the venetian blinds down more and do a better job of hiding, but other than cutting a chunk out of the blinds, haven't had any better ideas :)

If you notice the brown cushion I'm resting my arms on, on the window sill, -- last summer it fell down onto the patio below and damaged a lovely Martha Washington geranium that was below the window.

Beautiful composition with amazing detail in the reflection. Love your blind for capturing all your wildlife images---all the comforts of home. Lol!

Alandra hi there! This is such a wonderful reflection of a

photographer capturing a hummingbird. I always wondered when you said,

"taken from my window" how that was really happening. This is truly

a fun and beautiful photograph.

WOW Alandra. This is the best shot I have seen you take. I love the way the hummingbird is dancing around the ball and you look cute hanging out the window. I love the way you are hanging out the window also.
