Blue Serenity

Blue Lisianthus. I love this flower. This is an actual photograph and has no layering, though it has croping and some enhancement and sharpening.

One of my favorites.

Coming back for another look, this is one of my favorites and the way you took the photo is very creative.

I checked my original photo. Believe it or not, there were no color adjustments done.

another lisianthus one that I missed earlier. Am curious after reading your earlier comment, Alex, as to whether you enhanced the colour of the flower, as have never seen one that vivid a blue. Would certainly love to find some if that is the real colour, as it's one of my faves. thanks.

Thanks for the instructions Alex. I copied and pasted them into my mail so I'd have a copy and I will try it.

Thank you for your comments. I'm so glad you like it. To answer your question Mary, the secret of this shot is it that the flower is a cut flower in a vase. I propped the vase on the ledge of my balcony and got under it a bit to capture the sky in the background. The picture was taken near sunset, so the light was a bit low and I illuminated the plant with a light flash. F8.0 (narrow apeture to capture both the flower and clouds), 1/200sec. I cropped the photo to remove the vase, etc.

I have a few similar photos posted using the same technique. Give it a try sometime.

This is beautiful. How do you do it? Is it the actual flower taken against the sky? Do you crouch down on the ground to take the shot? Can you share your method?
