Built by Henry Flagler in 1887 as the Hotel Ponce de Leon, this beautiful complex featured 480 suites all furnished differently - and was one of the first to have electricity.

The former dining room (now the cafeteria) could seat 800 guests with one waiter per table. The gorgeous circular room's multiple windows are original Tiffany stained glass creations - the largest collection in the world.

The college offers tours during the week, reservations are recommended as tour sizes are limited.

As a hotel, only only certain people could stay there, although 5 US presidents were invited - but had to pay their own way. Otherwise, you had to be a) a New Yorker on the 'A' list.

Later, in an effort to bring artists into the area, Flagler created the top floor dormers on an angle to let in more light to the lofts they were invited to stay in.
