Fireworks Collage

The fireworks preview was very nice and I managed a few good captures. These are my favorite 4 in this collage. It was my first attempt at fireworks so I'm happy with the results. The only problem I has was that my lense fogged up due to it being very cool and damp. I didn't notice it right away and it ruined most of the shots I took :-(. Thanks for looking. Don

Thanks all! It was fun to photograph them. The second night I went to my cousins yard, a little father back and got a mess more shots. I had a nice visit with them too, thanks cuz!

Mike, depending on what camera you are using there are different remote switches. When I had the rebelxt the remote was less that $20US and wireless. The 30d takes a wire remote that just plugs into the side of the camera. They work great because you don't get any camera shake when you hit the button. The shutter will stay open as long as you hold the button down when you are in the bulb setting. This way you can determine what fireworks are in each shot. They work great for nitetime lightning too. Don

Beautiful fireworks and they don't hurt one's ears. *g* I like the green one, with all the pink. *g* But the pink one beside it, with dark blue or purple is my favorite. I am not good at colors but I know what I like. Will be happy to see more. Anne

Hi Mary. Thanks! Yes I used a tripod and also a remote switch I just bought for the 30d. It is the simplest one they make, just a plug-in shutter release button on a short cable $70. I picked it up for lightning and fireworks. Thanks again. Don

Nice variety of colors and sharp focus. Did you use a tripod Don? I've never tried any night shot yet.
