This is in Latrobe Park in the French Quarter. There was debate about weather it was given to New Orleans in 1984 or 1884. New Orleans had a world's fair in both years. I stood up and looked at the plaque at the bottom of the statue and realized it was 1984. The mayors were Chirac and Morial. It sure looks old enough to be 1884 though.
