Royal River Cruiser Crashes

Royal River Cruiser (Macromia taeniolata)

This is a posed photo, this cruiser landed at my feet after a mid air collision with another large dragonfly. It was stunned and eventually flew off after allowing me to take several photos. I've never seen one of these perched as they are always flying high above the trees. Taken in Columbus Co., NC on May 24, 2003
