HMS Nelson/ Guns 1935-1936 /

these are the guns of a ship of the Royal Navy - HMS Nelson, which my Dad served on, - he had written 1935 - 1936 on back of photo.

I just had the name of the ship confirmed, thanks to my friend Les, who kindly contacted the Archivist at Navy News in Portsmouth, Hampshire England, who confirmed that these gun badges did belong to HMS Nelson, which is what I suspected, knowing that my Dad had served on "her", all those years ago.

thanks, Brian. The crest on the gun badge is of Admiral Lord Nelson. Am happy to have a lot of my Dad's old photos etc.

The caps in the guns has the bust of a man. Any idea who that is? He looks like George Washington, but that can't be right since you've mentioned that this is a ship in the English Navy. Maybe it's a picture of "Nelson" since that's the name of the ship.
