Cave Falls in Yellowstone

Cave Falls in YellowstoneCave Falls is a waterfall in Yellowstone, but it's not reachable by the main loop. Instead, it's a long drive over dirt washboard roads. It gets its name from a small cave on the side of the falls, which is what I was standing in to take the photograph. The falls are impressive. They're probably thirty to forty feet tall and a few hundred feet wide.
From here, there are several hiking trails that go to other waterfalls. Some of them are much larger than this one; however, the hike is several miles, which we had neither the time or energy to do on that particular day.
