Maori Carvings

: Maori Carvings; A friend took us out on Lake Taupo, New Zealand, in his boat to look at the Maori Carvings done in the rock face. These aren't ancient carvings but still very impressive to look at. What a wonderful,marvelous face!! Very impressive! Also, and I may be dreaming this up - but is there - like a person carved - sitting in a lounge chair - to the left, as I am looking at it. I can see things often when no one else does and everyone laughs at me but I do see things sometimes. *g* Thanks for letting us get to see some wonders that otherwise we would never see. I went out to see these carvings again with a work group. I never knew we were going there so forgot my camera. I did, however, have my cell phone and got a couple of good shots. As soon as I get a decent dial-up connection, I will upload some. Thanks Dud for you comment by the way.

Thanks Whittler. Your comment is really appreciated. It was a truly beautiful place to be. All the rocks in the front of the big carving were carved too. They had carved lizards etc right into the rocks. I have some photos that I will upload at a later date. It sure was impressive.

Thanks Carol. It was really great getting a chance to see these carvings as they can only be viewed by boat. Lake Taupo is about 2 hours away but we don't get there as much as we would like to.
