I'm Strong, but I lIke Roses

I am fortunate to live on a private lake, with lots of critters to photograph. Usually they start to move after sunset. Once in a while they move when the sun is still out, and you wait until the light hits them just right. I love this shot, for the colors and light, even though the bird is moving away from me.

I am wondering where the roses come into the picture? Did I miss something? I also love the herons and have watched them for 70 years at least as my Mother loved birds and taught us about them. A beautiful picture!
