House near beach, under construction

this large house is being constructed close to the beach, where we go to watch the Snowy Owls. The landscaping isn't finished yet, but it's going to be really impressive when complete.

Mountains in background are in North Vancouver and West Vancouver, BC. I'd love to have a tour to see the interior of the house :)

thanks again, Tania. Know what you mean. We haven't been there for sometime, but will be returning soon, as the Snowy Owls will be arriving back here for the winter before long. It will be interesting to see if the house owners might have planted some trees on the property since this image was captured.

Like all above great capture of a wonderful house. Im with Don "when is the Owl Party" I would have thought if they dont want it photographed then build big fences or plant trees. But believe it or not, not everyone out there is photography mad like we are, and would never think that someone may photograph their house. Beautiful capture Alandra

I LOVE this house, although I'm not usually impressed at all with new ones. I want to live there! Thanks for sharing.

thanks for the reply, Steve. Sounds like you made the wisest choice. I agree with how you felt about it tho', it was a public road. But sometimes a person just has to do what you did, better to be safe than sorry, right.

Hi Alandra! On this occasion I telephoned the individual, hoping to persuade him that since I'd photographed the house from a public road, I could not really see how his privacy had been invaded. No luck though, and as this person works in the village where we have our house in France, I did not want to create any enemies! So I took the pictures down from my site. Pity, but the lesser of the evils, I think.

Hi Karen, thanks, and yes, you do have a good point there. Luckily the entire Boundary Bay region is a huge area, so believe it will be a long time before the wildlife feel threatened. Am sure everyone living here would be up in arms at the thought of this happening too. Perhaps there are already restrictions as to what can be built there, am not sure. Hope so :)

trying again, Steve. Thanks for the comment & warning. This thought has crossed my mind, and for that reason there have been several photos that I haven't uploaded here "just incase". Did feel a bit "iffy" about this one, as there's a big sign about trespassers etc on the roadside near the house. Too bad really, as we are only admiring these places, right, and have no ulterior motive for showing the pics here, rather than wanting to share the pleasurable scene. So the owners should be flattered rather than feel privacy's been invaded. But there you go, everyone sees things differently, right. What did you do about this, btw?

It is beautiful but I wonder how it will affect the wildlife, especially the birds. There will probably be more houses to come. That usually impacts the wildlife.

Hi Steve, thanks, had just replied here, and a Wikipedia message flashed onscreen and I lost all of the comment, annoying, so will get back again later. Has anyone else had this Wikipedia blasted message?

Great shot of a very interesting "old" new house! I hope Don is right, but just one word of caution. I took a picture of a beautiful house in France, and put it on my site. A couple of weeks ago I got an e-mail threatening me with legal action for invasion of privacy!! :(

It is a gorgeous building, Alandra, and the setting is perfect. I agree with Don - let's all rent the place for a week - whee!!!!!!!!!

you know what, Don, I never even thought of that, duh, what a great idea! Probably due to the fact that we've had this new printer sitting here since before Xmas, and it's not hooked up yet! So much going on, hard disk meltdown, hospital trip etc etc. and too busy taking the images to have time to print any out, LOL.

I just thought of something Alandra. If you took them an 8"x10" of that photo, how could they resist giving you a tour? As beautiful of a capture of their home that it is, it might just work. You can then mention about the LF owl party when the moment is right :-). I'm sure they won't mind having us all over...lol. Don

that's true, Orchidea Blue. Worth a try I guess. Might do that.

now that's a fabulous idea, Don :) thanks, glad you like the image. It is a lovely looking house/mansion :)

It will be just great when finished and this will add to the view, maybe if you ask permission they would give you the grand tour !!! if you don't try you will never know.

Ciao

good idea, Cindy :) probably would get away with it with my bird watching/photo taking clothes on lol, esp windswept like the other day after hours down there.

Trouble is, it looks like there's someone living there now. thanks for the comments :)

What an awesome home Alandra, I, like you would love a tour inside too. You could disguise yourself as a builder and get in maybe!!!
