beautiful timid visitor, - Band Tailed Pigeon, who flew in to our patio fountain for water. Looking at this image, reminds me how I held one of these gentle birds years ago, after it hit our front window and was stunned for awhile, and I found one of our cats circling it, out on the front lawn, getting closer and closer! So I picked it up and carried it down to our back garden and placed it on a tree branch, as it was dusk and I feared for its safety overnight. It took off the next morning, so I was happy about that. Seeing this side view of it's head/eye, reminds me how that other "band tail" watched me trustingly as I carried it down our back deck steps that evening. A nice memory and a happy ending.
