Sunset over Mirlo Beach, North Carolina

This shot kept trying to elude me each time we passed by - but finally I got it just right as we drove by one evening. The pelicans were shot farther north by the Oregon Inlet, and this seemed to be an appropriate scene for them to "fly into" - considering the sun was about right both times.

Thank you again, Anne. I love lighthouses, and this home intrigued me - but in the three months we were Workamping on the Outer Banks, this was the ONLY really good shot I nailed of it - and I took quite a few!

I fell in love with the buildings, especially the one that looks like the lighthouse. I'm not good on architecture but I know what I like. It seemed a warm and friendly place inviting one in to visit or to just stay. And the pelicans were the exactly right touch. Thank you for showing us these wonderful heartwarming places. You captured a magnificent shot!!!

Thank you for your encouraging comment, Barb. I enjoyed working on this one and sent it to my Stepmother for her birthday last year.

A lovely picture - good for a postcard or framing. I like how you offset the shot in the outer frame to draw in the pelicans.

Thank you for your comments. The architecture on the Outer Banks tends to be somewhat whimsical and fanciful. All homes in this area are built on wooden stilts and rather diverse in nature.
