: Sunset over Mirlo Beach, North Carolina; This shot kept trying to elude me each time we passed by - but finally I got it just right as we drove by one evening. I fell in love with the buildings, especially the one that looks like the lighthouse. I'm not good on architecture but I know what I like. It seemed a warm and friendly place inviting one in to visit or to just stay. And the pelicans were the exactly right touch. Thank you for showing us these wonderful heartwarming places. Thank you for your comments. The architecture on the Outer Banks tends to be somewhat whimsical and fanciful. All homes in this area are built on wooden stilts and rather diverse in nature.
