Grand Prismatic Pool
 | The grand prismatic pool is one of the main attractions of Yellowstone. It's formed by volcanic activity close to the surface, and the orange 'mud' is actually a bacteria mat that lives in the 170 degrees Fahrenheit water.
Scientists didn't think anything could live in an environment as extreme as this, but now speculate that if we find life on other planets, it will be similar to the bacteria found in this pool.

Valley Of Fire Arch Rock
 | This is called Arch Rock that is in the Valley Of Fire and has been photographed to death. The Valley Of Fire State Park is located only six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada via Interstate 15 and on exit 75. The Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest and largest state park, dedicated in 1935. The valley derives its name from the red sandstone formations and the stark beauty of the Mojave Desert. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000 year-old Indian petroglyph. Popular activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and photography. The park offers a full-scale visitor center with extensive interpretive displays. Several group use areas are also available. The park is open all year. Hey Steve maybe we could meet up there and make a day of it. Hannibal The Crow lives in Vegas and I can be there in two hours :) If anyone wants to learn more about the Valley Of Fire just do a Google search, there are lots of sites about it. I can't wait to go there again. You do a lot of walking so go with good shoes and lots of water.

America the Wonderful
 | Tonto National Monument in Arizona is a breathtaking sight of ancient cliff-dwellings surrounded by saguaro cacti nestled, literally, in the rocky mountainous terrain.
A little gemstone that we stumbled upon quite accidentally is the world's tallest masonry dam situated mere miles from this National Park called Roosevelt Dam.

Raratongan Waterfall
 | Last time we were in Raratonga this waterfall was just a little trickle. we ended up buying a postcard of the waterfall because there was not much water in it. This time was completley different. The local kids were having a ball getting massaged by the waterfall and diving in for a swim in the small pool underneath

Only in Texas
 | This cowboy boot-shaped building is in South Padre Island, Texas. This long narrow barrier island is in the southern most part of the state and has become a big hit with the springbreaker crowd because of the lovely beaches and warm climate. The Mexican border is only 30 miles away.

rhythmic past
 | I asked my two friends to model, so they dressed up in old fashioned vintage clothes and we got some props and took a trip to a small irish town of Killaloe Co. Clare (which is the birth place of Brian Boru, the 'King of Munster' in the first century) one evening. i was delighted with most of the shots that came out and hoping to develop some ideas and maybe a series. all comments welcome :) travel photos can also include 'time travel' yes? ;)

Hot Florida Sunset
 | I captured this hot sunset while relaxing one warm Spring night in Kissimmee Florida where i had traveled for a getaway over spring break.
**Fact: although there are many interpretations, the name "Kissimmee" is thought to be the modern spelling of a tribal word**

Eleven Generations of Family History
Shirley Plantation is Virginia's first plantation (1613) and one of the first economic engines of the new world. Only six years after John Smith's settlement at Jamestown, the crown grant carving Shirley Plantation out of the Virginia frontier was established. The chronicle of Shirley Plantation best exemplifies the period in our nation's history between the settlement at Jamestown in 1607 and the movement towards American independence from Great Britain in 1776. During its long history and under the leadership of one family, Shirley Plantation has survived the Indian Uprising, Bacon's Rebellion, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the Great Depression.
Shirley Plantation is the oldest family-owned business in North America dating back to 1638. Construction of the present mansion began in 1723 when Elizabeth Hill, great-granddaughter of the first Hill, married John Carter, eldest son of Robert "King" Carter. Completed in 1738, the mansion, referred to as the “Great House,” is largely in its original state and is owned, operated, and lived in by direct descendants of Edward Hill.

Kearny AZ Clear Sky
 | While on a recent trip to Arizona this February, I took this shot from the Kearny Inn courtyard at night. The constellation Orion was sandwitched between 2 tall Palm trees. A few backdoor porch lights were on and illuminated the trees just enough, while still allowing the stars to be visible. That clear sky out there is unbelievable. Thanks for looking. Don

Gold Hill, Shaftesbury, England.
 | The view is of 'Gold Hill' Shaftesbury, Dorset, England. A steep cobbled street lined with uniquely individual thatched and tiled cottages, looks out across the Blackmore Vale and fields broken by hedgerows in a scene that evokes the best of traditional English charm.
Shaftesbury is a small Market Town with history that goes back to medieval times.
Gold Hill, was made famous by the Hovis Bread advertisement in 1973 and is voted Britain's favourite TV ad, which you can view on (YouTube) at www.Quickrelease.tv
Go on take a look, a real step back in time.
Enjoy:)
