| With a blizzard raging outside, the only thing I can think of is how cold it is. Therefore, this contest is for images of anything cold. Burrrr. |

Waterfall in Winter
 | The Upper Falls in the Genesee River at Letchworth State Park (NY), in late winter. A heavy coating of rime ice from the waterfall's mist has built up over the winter on the river gorge's wall.

Majestic Mount Egmont
 | This is one of my favourite views of our mountain, Mt.Egmont (also known as Mt.Taranaki). It is on the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand in Taranaki, not far from the city of New Plymouth. Isn't it breath-taking? What I love most is that it goes from totally snowless during summer months to this.....almost overnight!

It's For You
 | I found this telephone up in the Hualapai mountains just a few miles from Kingman, Arizona. The Hualapai mountains were named after the North American people formerly living in the Colorado river valley in Arizona.

Winter Cardinal
 | After an ice storm that coated the wires and trees with thick ice this skitish female Cardinal was in search of food which I so kindly supplied her for holding still long enough for me to capture her image. Background is a row of Cedars in my yard. Taken early morning, F10, telephoto lens.

Sledding Fun!
 | My kids and two of their friends sledding at our annual snow day. This is a snow hill in our neighborhood that was made the night before. It was melting quick because it was warm out! My two are in the front with their feet straight up!

How Fast Can I Eat All This Snow?
 | We had a couple of healthy snow storms while I was in Michigan. After one fresh snowfall, two-year-old Miles decided that trying to eat all the snow off the deck was a great idea!

So, I'm hungry and cold!
 | A grey squirrel raids the bird table, but I couldn't begrudge him some breakfast! This shot was taken in very low light, and my camera was set to ISO1250, which accounts for the grain and noise. I've also had to do some heroic post-processing, which has degraded the image further.
