Mel, the tragic stories of this beach aside, this is a really great photo. I'm glad you posted it. I think I get the idea about the latest death though. Still tragic.

Hi Lulu, yes I do see these signs often. And something really needs to happen to improve this beach. I realise this beach has taken many lives, but the recent life taken was really sad, however there is more to her death that we don't fully know about (something that shouldn't be discussed online). You have got me thinking why I posted this photo now, as a reminder all is not what it seems.

Mel, every time I go past this part of Marine Parade I see these signs. I think its because it has a real bad drop just in a few metres from the waters edge, and there have also been quite a few drownings there by people getting swept away. A few years ago with another big storm we had, we went over to have a look at how high the waves were (as the road runs along the beach) and little did we know that just after we left, a 4 year old girl was swept away and drowned. It was after this that these signs appeared. Still, some don't take any notice and that was why a lady drowned last week. I love the flag in this photo. It shows how stormy it was.
