About This Image

I caught this Bendire's Thrasher giving me a mean look. I was stopping him from getting to the bird feeder lol.. It was standing on some large rocks that are around one of our trees. The Thrashers are as curious as the Cactus Wrens. We have had a couple of them come inside our house during the hot summer. If you turn on your swamp cooler and open the front door, expect visitors to come in and cool off LOL..

Hi Mary and Beverly, Thanks very much.. Glad you enjoyed this photo. Beverly, these guys are really nice and will let you get closer to them than the sparrows. Thanks Mary for the web site. I have been looking for a good Arizona bird site. That page sure sounds like my bird, they jabber as much as the Cactus Wrens lol...

Hey Steve, Thanks for your thoughts. They do have that mean look to them. Oh and Thanks for the giggle about my sign off line :-)

Nice shot Alan, especially the beak and the beady eye. I can see why you might consider this a mean look - he does seem to look rather disapproving which I guess is because of the downward curving beak. I was going to add that it is crisply focused, until I remembered your sign-off line!
