The Wind Wand

This is the infamous Wind Wand, designed by kinetic artist Len Lye. It was New Plymouth's "Millennium Project" for the year 2000. The rate-paying residents had to fund a major part of its $300,000 cost, which irked at the time.......but I think most of us kinda like it now. Well, I do anyway. Apologies if it's a little out of focus but I just held the camera against the base, pointed up, clicked & hoped for the best! :o) Oh, and it's taller than it looks, check out the website (it's easy to find, just google windwand!).

interesting and unique, must check it on google as had never heard of it. It's fun seeing things from other countries.

Hellie1 fantastic capture. I like you thought it was a waste of money. Now I like haveing it and enjoy watching it when I go to New Plymouth. I am glad to it did not get damaged in the tornado that hit New Plymouth today.
