Yes, Brianpaddock. The white area is where a flower was once attached but all the petals are gone. It's like the way an apple forms under the flower. The green spots are like the xylem and phloem remnants.

Thanks for all the guesses! Nope, it's not lights nor diamond rings. All I did was play with the contrast and brightness to help hide part of the image.
