Lights of the Outer Banks

Before leaving Ft Myers I learned that our dear friends next door have a daughter who also loves light stations. I went through the Outer Banks' photos I took last summer, and created this image for her, set against the Atlantic Ocean.

I knew you were busy - was surprised to see you online a couple of times, but didn't want to intrude. I hope you're having a great time with all your family.

I have two more lights I took - one in Miami and one at St Augustine - I'll add them soon!

very nicely presented Vicki and I love lighthouses, also. Have been busy with visitors for the past couple days so am late with my comments.

Goodness! I'm flattered by all your wonderful comments. I just noticed a goof on one light though - it's actually Currituck Beach Light.

The Atlantic background was from the Waves area of North Carolina - halfway between the Cape Hatteras and Bodie Island Lights.

There are others buried away on this site from last summer with similar backgrounds, used to enhance their areas.

Thank you, Talsi and Karen, for your postcard comments. Mary, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Doug - your comments are greatly valued as you know how I admire your imaginative work. Alex - your Bay Area photos always "take me home", but I have fun with my images and in down times, when I cannot get online (most of last winter), I enjoy experimenting with borders and framing effects. My youngest daughter is now getting into that mode after watching me play and have fun. Writing a tutorial is not really an option for that reason. To do so, the author must be more readily available to assist - and being on the road full-time seriously limits me. Hopefully we'll be in the same place from the end of April through Labor Day. We're supposed to have free WiFi there - but often campground connections are spotty. If this one's decent, I may be able to give it a shot. We'll see what happens. I would probably have to ask for some input from Doug as he has more experience with photo editing programs and their verbage so everyon's on the same page.

Very professional looking. You could probably sell this to a post card publisher. Really!

In addition to your excellent photography, you have a tremendous talent for presenting and framing your shots. I think you should share some of your techniques in the Forum/Tutorial section. I for one, would be interested to learn.
