Tugboat wait to head east

Tugboat wait to head eastHurricane Wilma caused considerable damage along the Okeechobee Waterway. Our lock - the W P Franklin, was relatively safe, and the campground only suffered the loss of a few trees - 29 miles to the east, at the Ortona Lock, an entirely different story unfolded - several boats sank in the lock, and 4 travel trailers at a nearby campground were thrown into the Calahatchie River.
This tug patiently waited at this mooring for two days, until it was cleared to pass through five locks and cross Lake Okeechobee to reach the Atlantic Ocean.
