Valley Of Fire Arch Rock

This was taken in The Valley Of Fire in Nevada. This man was setting up to take a photo of the Arch Rock. In this photo the arch looks small, you can actually walk through it with four people on each side of you easily. The Valley Of Fire State Park is located only six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada via Interstate 15 and on exit 75. The Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest and largest state park, dedicated in 1935. The valley derives its name from the red sandstone formations and the stark beauty of the Mojave Desert. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000 year-old Indian petroglyph. Popular activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and photography. The park offers a full-scale visitor center with extensive interpretive displays. Several group use areas are also available. The park is open all year. If anyone wants to learn more about the Valley Of Fire just do a Google search, there are lots of sites about it. I can't wait to go there again. You do a lot of walking so go with good shoes and lots of water.

I forgot Pilar, The Valley Of Fire is just 50 miles from you. Go out there, you will not be disappointed. There are photo ops every direction you look. Just don't go out there now, it's way to hot.

Thanks very much Pilar! I really appreciate your comment. You miss Mohave Valley? LOL.. I never thought I would hear that :-) No really I like it here but it is getting to populated for me. Still no pavement or traffic lights here in Golden Valley but it won't be long.

Also my late Thanks to Alandra, Alex, Karen, Don, Beverly, and Carol for your great comments. Sorry about not sending in a reply, somehow I missed this one.

Nice job - the addition of the person adds nice scale to the photo.
