Autumn Tree

Autumn TreeI finally decided the only way I would see some real fall foliage is to drive to Lost Maples State Park in the central Texas Hill Country near Vanderpool. It was a 2 and 1/2 hour drive on an overcast day. There the limestone hills create a valley that protects the big-tooth maple trees from the nomally hot Texas summers. The creeks had very little water but the leaves were starting to turn gold, orange and red.
