Swallowtail Butterfly

Swallowtail ButterflyThis is one huge swallowtail. I saw him from inside my house fly bya nd land in our bush. He is hurt as you will see only one piece of his tail is there.
They have a wing span of 3.5-6.5 inches (9-16.5 cm).
They are called Swallowtail butterflies because of the "tail" that mimics those of the swallow bird.
Ok just some neat facts. and this so far has been my best photo of the 2006 summer season
