Lilly Lake Sunset 3

This was taken at Lilly Lake at sunset. In this one, I tried to use the shore to draw the eye into the center of the picture like a natural arrow.

From what I heard, the boy scout started out near Mirror Lake about 5 miles away and ended up here. It's wonderful country, but easy to get lost. I know because I have been lost in there before. We were on a day hike and it snowed while we were out there. This caused us to lose our trail, but we managed to get back by using the mountains as landmarks. If 2 adults can get lost, then think about a boy by himself in a place full of snow, where everything looks like a trail, but most are just deer and other animal paths. Also, among the trees, it can get quite disorenting if you leave the main trails.

The boy scouts state that you should always "Be Prepared". That includes keeping enough food and water with you at all times, and to avoid going out alone in unfamiliar territory.

The scout was lucky. There have been hundreds of people lost and never found again over the years. It's a vast wilderness, but one of the most beautiful too. If you are smart about things and stick to pairs or groups, then it's a wonderful place to spend some time.

Wow! Nice usage of colors! I feel so peaceful! Where is this get away place located at hehehe… I love the composition! Because there are so many visual Q’s to lead the audience and the landscapes create these power lines to draw your viewers to look at the center of your picture. You are very lucky to have seen this sunset in person but now I get the pleasure to enjoy it because of you… thanks for sharing!

The way the sunset is reflected in the lake is absolutely glorious. The scenery in the Pacific Northwest is phenomenal. I would love to see this as a wall mural.

After a few more trips up here, I've come to realize that this is at Lost Lake. Lilly Lake is on the other side of the road. It's a funny name since the main road runs right along it's edge. These lakes are in the Uinta Mountains in North Eastern Utah, which is a really high mountain range. Most of the peaks are above the tree line.
