Valley Of Fire Arch Rock

: Valley Of Fire Arch Rock; This is called Arch Rock that is in the Valley Of Fire and has been photographed to death. The Valley Of Fire State Park is located only six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada via Interstate 15 and on exit 75. The Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest and largest state park, dedicated in 1935. The valley derives its name from the red sandstone formations and the stark beauty of the Mojave Desert. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000 year-old Indian petroglyph. Popular activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and photography. The park offers a full-scale visitor center with extensive interpretive displays. Several group use areas are also available. The park is open all year. Hey Steve maybe we could meet up there and make a day of it. Hannibal The Crow lives in Vegas and I can be there in two hours :) If anyone wants to learn more about the Valley Of Fire just do a Google search, there are lots of sites about it. Hi Magoo, Thanks for your nice comment. The Valley Of Fire is in Nevada close to Las Vegas, but driving from there you can be in Arizona in about a hour. I'm glad you liked my photo :)

Hi Brian, It is a photographers heaven and you get lots of exercise. They have a map showing where the things are at, you can drive up close to them but you have to walk a ways after you park. It is for sure worth the visit. If you start in the morning you can see most of it by the end of the day. It was great, everywhere we went there were photo nuts with there cameras on tripods snapping away.
