Stanley Park Panhandler

This raccoon was being kept behind the fence in Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. I guess the tourists had been feeding it. It kept looking at us expecting a treat.

was next to the gift shop. Is that Prospect Point?? Yikes, I soundIt just like a confused tourist. Lol! Thanks Alandra, for your kind feedback. There were two behind the fence and a third one was roaming the parking lot, probably looking for a vehicle with the keys inside.

Hi Karen, great capture of the little bandit. Was this taken in the area of Prospect Point in Stanley Park? We've seen a raccoon there each time we went to that lookout area.

Have often wondered what became of the raccoons etc during the awful storm that wreaked havoc in Stanley Park the winter before last. Much of the park was closed off to the public, including Prospect Point, as so many trees had been blown over and it was very dangerous there. Not sure if it's been re-opened yet.

Thank you for all your kind words. I admit I felt a bit sorry for the raccoon since old habits are difficult to break.

I agree with the other comments Karen. A really clear shot. The eye focus is good with reflections and the Raccoon is very healthy looking.

Lovely, clear shot of the raccoon; the only ones I've seen, have been at night, when the light isn't brilliant for photo's unless you have a flash gun. He certainly looks like a bandit. :)

Great photo! Really cute face and those eyes really grab your attention. I like that it looks like he has it's hand out for some food, it fits your title perfectly...
