I was in my hand built Cajun pirogue when I captured this image. I built the boat very light (only 40# dry) so I could get to a few areas that hold vast amounts of wildlife that is unreachable via any other mode of transportation - It has proved to be a huge asset just two weeks into it's use. There is something about the solitude one finds when paddling down a swamp's backwater lake with only a camera - my own special version of "catch and release"!
