Spring Snack

While driving I passed a tree full of birds eating apples that still were hanging there.

Hi there Mary and thanks for stopping to view my photograph. Yes,

the promise of Spring, indeed. We really need it here in the NE this year. Record breaking snow fall.

Thank you Alan, Whittler and Anne for the info in regard to these

birds. I wasn't sure of the bird so didn't fill it in the discription.

Yes, Alan there are buds on most of the trees now. It's a matter of

warmer weather to make them open and show us their beautiful color.

Today is Maple Syrup Day here in Maine. Many people go to Maple Syrup

farms and sample the new syrup of this year.

A wonderful picture!! I thought the birds were waxwings but then I looked again and was not sure. They are the same gentle brown and have the beauty of these birds though. Once, long ago, I was privileged to stand (back againtst the tree) while the cedar waxwings swarmed over the tree on their way here. It was on the campus of the College that my son was attending. He came and got me so I could see the wonder of the birds and I could not resist standing there with them. They were not at all afraid. A blessed moment. As this was. Very beautiful and touchs the heart.

Great photo of the pretty birds having some lunch. Those orange tails with the yellow tips sure stand out. It also looks like the apple tree is starting to get some buds on it. The sun shining and the nice blue sky sure feels like spring time..

Thank you Jas,Carol and Karen for viewing my photograph and commenting. Yes, it was quite a sight to see. The tree was full of

these birds. I tried to get closer but was afraid they would fly away.

Gee, I wonder if the apple had fermented over the winter. Maybe it became an apple with a little extra zing! Lol! Those are lovely little birds.

It's good to see that the apples are being put to good use by these sweet little birds; they have such pretty colours. :)
