Spire

B&W shot of the church spire in La Souterraine. This was done in the GIMP using the channel mixer (70% red channel, 30% green channel, 0% blue channel). This has resulted in the strikingly dark sky, but this is actually a more faithful account of the real tones. The strong blue light of a clear sky makes skies look far too light in most B&W pictures, when in fact a cystal clear blue sky is quite dark to our eyes.
