Annular Eclipse

Annular Eclipse

An annular solar eclipse as seen in the northeast US on May 10, 1994. The moon was at high orbital point, appearing smaller than usual and not covering the whole solar disk, so the eclipse was not total, with a complete ring of light from the sun around the moon. This shot shows the moment of coincidence of the edges of the solar and lunar disks, with a bit of sunlight still visible through a lunar valley as a separated bright spot in the ring.
