Snowy Owl, in the wild, - March 07

Snowy Owl in the wild, near beach in our area, Boundary Bay, BC Canada. Love those feathery feet!!

We've been going there for 4 days straight, hoping to see the Snowies close enough to capture some images, finally today was able to do so, altho even at that, they still weren't "that" close. The Snowies leave sometime this month.

Hi Tania & Marsha Sea, thanks to both of you, -- Tania, also love it's stance here, they are very sweet when they walk about, rather slowly and deliberately, leaning forward a bit. Marsha, am happy to share the pics here, as realize many people haven't seen the snowies. They are very special.

Hi again, Vicki, getting back with the info re the snowy owl's size. The bird book states that they are between 20-27" tall & 55" W.

thanks so much for the nice comments, Alan and Alex, am happy to share the pics as there are probably many who don't get to see these beauties. (nearly missed them this year ourselves!) Had kept wondering if they where here this winter, nobody knew - finally, just recently, a friend told us they are at their usual place, so we started going to try to capture some images, and yesterday got these.
