Christmas Snow

This is a photo of my daughter in the snow. It is Christmas day and we decided to take a stroll in the snow while on holiday in Canada. Notice the NZ on her hat and the icicles in her hand and pocket.

Thanks for your comment Talsi. It seems like so long ago now that we were experiencing all the excitement and snow of Canada. We still talk about that trip all the time though. Its nice to have photos like this one to remember it by though. My husband actually lost his wedding ring while walking through the snow this very day. We never realised till we got home so he went out an re-traced his steps - and found it! It was sitting at the bottom of a foot-step in knee deep snow. I thought this was amazing.

Wonderful photo of your daughter. Love how she stands out so much from the snow.

Dion, I did bring gifts home. Did I miss yours? Oh, that must have been because we came home through Sydney, not Brisbane. Will keep you in mind next time, okay?

The best thing about Canada (never actually having been there) is a TV series called Trailer Park Boys. Funniest TV I have ever seen. Let me know next time you go over Lulu U can bring gifts home :-)

nice mild winters you have there, I know. It's pretty good where we are too. Palm trees overwinter here outside, which is hard for some people to believe. Some winters we don't get any hard frosts in our area, and just noticed in one of my snowdrop pics from last winter, I wrote that the temp on 23 January 05 was 57 F. Some winters we get no snow here, and if we do, it only lasts a week or so. and even then, we moan about it lol.

Most of the photos in my gallery (especially the newer ones) are all taken recently showing what our winter is currently like. It gets cooler in the evening and sometimes there is frost, but certainly nothing like the snow we saw. We even got to experience -25 degrees celsius while we were there. Its currently getting to 18 degrees celsius here and its the middle of winter :-) I have just put on some more photos of my cat Flame hunting. You can see how nice the day is and these were taken just yesterday. You can even see the time on my sundial picture it was such a lovely day.

enjoying this chitchat, Lulu : ) - glad you had a good time here.

Can understand it would seem like a novelty if people aren't used to the snow, but have lived in northern BC where the snow lasted for months on end, - so wouldn't care if I Never saw snow again LOL.

Right now tho' it's pretty hot here and we aren't used to this either, - don't like extremes either way : ) Just medium is good for me, which ours usually is.

Alandra, we spent a whole month in that snow. Eveyone here was so envious but we wished we were in the nice sunny weather of New Zealand after about a week. Yes, I do plan to take a trip to BC sometime. Went to Ontario as we had family there. BC would normally have been my choice of destination. Canada is a very very lovely country though and the people were so friendly.

am chuckling here, Lulu, at your comment "but you soon get sick of it" (referring to the snow : ) You're right about that, we can't stand it LOL, which is why we live in this part of Canada, where we rarely get snow : ) (the most south westerly area of B.C.) Hope you do get out here again in Spring or even better, summertime, and come to BC next time! : )

Yeah, it was deep. And, the two of us shovelled a deck with snow this deep. Its really beautiful but you soon get sick of it. As you can tell, Bianca loved every minute of it though.

A lovely shot. That snow looks so deep!

Hi Alandra. This photo was taken in Owen Sound, Ontario. We don't get snow where we live (unless we travel to the ranges a few hours away) so when we were invited to have a white christmas, we jumped at the chance. I am now in love with Canada and would love to see it in the spring or summer.
