Mountain Lake Paradise

After an 8 mile hike (part of 16 miles) we stopped to capture a brewing thunder storm. This was definitely a breathtaking scene. I wish I would have had a panorama camera because there was much more. I have this image blown up on my desktop and the large version is even more exciting. I was really pleased with the timing here.

I kept looking for an apple tree. *LOL* Beautiful picture. The lake so placid and then the impish waterfall with its pure white water pouring down over the rocky mountain side! A great picture!!

Excellent shot, as usual.

If you can find time to camp in this area and you have the ability to hike in with a pack you will not be disappointed. It was beautiful. Make sure to take your camera, your pole, and your rain fly. I also remember it being called Blue Lake. You have to keep going and going until you are at the top of the mtn. Good luck!

This lake is 8 miles down the trail starting at Mirror Lake in the Uinta mountains. I believe this one is called Blue Lake, but I could be mistaken. There were several lakes in the area. This hike took Pacuman and I all day, and I almost got dyhydrated on the way back so I risked getting sick and drank the stream water. Luckily, I didn't get giardia and we made it back. I was extremely sore the next day, but it was worth it. Next time, however, I'm going to take my gear and sleep overnight. Doing it all in one day doesn't allow for any time to explore or fish (which there are ample of in those lakes and streams).

This picture personifies the outdoors. This is the place that people can only dream of. I have been though the wasatch mountains and this captures the beauty of them.

Very nice angle! It has just about every nice element of landscape photography, a waterfall, a lake, trees, mountains, rain, clouds... I think this one has everything.
