This is a scene of some cypress knees. They abound in the area of South Lousiana. They are actually roots of the tree which come up to find air. These particular cypress knees were found along the Tchefuncte River, north of Lake Pontchartrain. Cypress knees are used to make many objects including lamps and planters.
