I have a friend who grows blueberrys and showed her this photograph, they had never seen anything like this and thought it was a fantastic idea, he's going to see if he can make something like it, they said it would be a change to get more berrys than the birds.

Thanks Lorraine and Mary for your lovely comments, this photo was never intended to be a lesson in how to pick blueberries.

Just a pretty photo of blueberries and my blueberry rake.Enjoy!

Nice "still life" you set up Carol to show blueberries with the rake. As far as I can see you didn't state that the rake was used to harvest a "quart" of blueberries. If you choose to pick high bush berries...go for it! Thanks for sharing your photo. :)

What an interesting item, you could make quite a bit of use out of that for picking berrys, so important to be able to freeze fruits for the winter.

That rake would never be used to harvest a quart of berries as pictured. Blueberry rakes like that harvest five gallon buckets of berries in about 15 minutes. No one would use a rake to pick a quart's worth of berries.

High bush berries may be easier to pick, but the taste is so inferior to low bush, why bother?

Thanks Talsi for commenting. It takes some getting used to to use the rake,We have had this rake at least 30 years and most of the time it has hung on the wall in our basement.

We pick about two gallons to freeze for baking goodies in the winter.I prefer picking high bush ones.

Interesting. We have a lot of wild blueberries here also and I have never seen that rake before. I would imagine that it sure beats picking by hand.
